On a few different occasions, someone has asked me how I draw. WELL, it's not really easy to explain, but this is the best I can do:
Through the years, I've realized that breaking things down into simple shapes makes them not only easier to draw, but easier to position. I started with circles, but as I got older and (hopefully) better, I was comfortable with using other shapes.
In the above pictures, I've illustrated how I usually break things down. Now, I understand it's kind of messy, and I'm not a professional by any means, but I think this might be useful for beginning and struggling artists.
I find that this... method (I think) helps with more stylized art styles, so this might not be for everyone. By no means is this the only way to draw, just what I feel is most comfortable for me. For a lot of people, indicating where the spine is helps them, and for others, they don't need any indicator at all. Go find what is most useful for you
